Beaverkill River, Willowemoc Creek, and the Delaware River System
Today will be a high of 39° and cloudy with some wind gust up to 40 Mph and some snow showers in the morning, I cant control the weather but based on the forecast this should be our last cold day for a while. The Beaverkill and the Willowemoc are running a little high but are not blown out, nymphs and streamers will be the name of the game for today. Stop by the shop and we can point you in the direction of some good high water spots that we have had success fishing this season.
Some early season dry fly's have been spotted on the Beaverkill, Willowemoc, and the West Branch of the Delaware. The bugs predominantly have been caddis and fluttering stonefly's but some Blue Quills as well as Quill Gordon's have been seen. Some of our guides and shop staff have seen rising fish but nothing consistent enough to warrant fishing a dry fly yet, I suspect that we will have a major hatch within the next two weeks.
GUIDE RECOMENDED FLY'S: Mylar Prince (Black Sz 16), HS Pheasant tail Jig (Orange Sz 16-18), Frenchie (Shrimp pink Sz 16-18), Fulling Mill Perdigon (Black or Purple Sz 16-18), Spanish Bullet Jig (Silver Sz 16-18)
