The Beaverkill is fishing well but tough, stalking up to fish and making the perfect cast are essential to not put fish down right now. All reports have indicated the Willowemoc is fishing the same as the Beaverkill but it is on the lower side, knowledge of the where fish hold in the river is essential at lower flows.
The West Branch is starting to fish more technical, long fine leaders are needed for weary fish. Most of the river is now accessible by foot, the river is still floatable but in some sections it can get skinny its best to stick to the main section of the river and not go down braids unless you have floated through them before. From what I saw yesterday everything down stream of Hale Eddy is receiving more fishing pressure then the area around Deposit.
The East Branch is fishing very technical and is starting to get crowded in its few access points, flows are great for wading but not floatable. Long fine leaders are essential for fishing the East in low water but if you are going to fish Green Drakes you need a thicker leader to turn them over.
The Main Stem is fishing exceptionally well, lots of bugs are out. Guides have reported seeing lots of Sulphur's on the Main but having no luck fishing them Green Drakes and March Browns have been what's putting fish in the net.
HATCHES: BWO (Sz 16-24), March Brown (Sz 8-12), Grey Fox (Sz 10-14), Green Drake (Sz 8-14), Yellow Sulphur's (Sz 12-18), Orange Sulphur's (Sz 14-18), Yellow Drakes (Sz 10-14) Black Caddis (Sz 12-16), Isonychia (Sz 10-14)
